Niagara Falls

Niagara falls is one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen - especially in the snow.  We just loved the snow even though it was freezing - it was between minus 17oC and minus 12oC every day - brrrrr - chilly!!
Niagara Falls is inbetween Canada and America, we were in Ontario on the Canadian side.  The Horseshoe part of the falls flows at  600,000 U.S. gallons or 2,271,247 liters per second!  It's very loud for a waterfall, we could still hear it in our hotel room, dad said that it sounded like heaps of waves crashing on the beach.
This lady Annie Edson Taylor was an American adventurer who, on her 63rd birthday, October 24. 1901 became the first person to survive a trip over the falls in a barrel - and she took her cat who survived without any injury!
A rainbow forms whenever the sun shines through the mist caused by the water flowing over Niagara Falls.  Also we were really lucky to have basically no people or tourists around - we were told that most people go to warmer places like Mexico and Florida at this time of year.  It was really nice to have the place to ourselves.
This is Niagara Falls at night time with coloured lights shining on it.  WOW! It was soooo cold so we didn't stay very long before we raan back to the hotel ! Drew
