Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

In Canada I loved all the snow and the beautiful scenery, including Niagara Falls.  The river had big blocks of ice floating in it that went down the enourmous waterfall.  Drew and I threw a few blocks of ice into the water and watched it drop down the falls.  The falls were alot bigger than I expected, especially once we were up close. It was very loud and I loved the sound.  My favorite part of Niagara Falls was the Horseshoe Falls because it was amazing to see so much water going over at once.
The snow here was kind of fluffy and soft, infact so soft and so cold that you couldn't make a snow ball or a snow man because the snow wouldn't melt enough to compact.  We tried to make a snow man but it just ended up as a pile of snow flakes on the ground! All of the trees were covered in snow, everything was frozen and it all looked so magnificent.
Drew and I kept jumping in the snow until we basically froze, in some areas the snow was almost a metre deep and in others it was just a few centimetres thick.  Sometimes even mum's and my hair froze (if it was damp and we went out into the cold), it was so stiff that it felt like it was going to crack when you bent it.  People put salt on the roads and paths every day to melt the snow so that you could walk and drive on them without slipping.
During our stay in Canada we went to the indoor water park that was connected to our hotel.  It was so nice and warm in there which we were really happy about!  There were about 10 different water slides, a wave pool, a kids play area and some hot spa's which mum and dad were really happy about!
There was a really steep, yellow water slide that we went down.  You had to go on your back and cross your arms over your chest.  Dad  said that I got to 100km's an hour!  It was so fast that you got a bit of air on the way down.  Drew, Dad and I loved it but mum wasn't that keen, she liked the tube slides better.
I had a great time in Niagara Falls, it was nice to play in the snow and then go in a nice hot pool and warm up.  Hannah
