Iraqi Restaurant Souq Wahif

Tonight we had dinner at an Iraqi restaurant in the Souq.  We had the local drink which is lemon and mint.  For dinner we had dips, kebabs cooked on a fire and Arabic salad - it was delicious! Behind us people were singing and dancing it sounded nice.  There was a street cat under the table that was friendly but it had an evil look in its eye.  Afterwards we had a look around the Souq.  We saw all sorts of birds, rabbits, turtles, hedgehogs, hamsters, guinea pigs and chipmunks.  The man took a hedgehog out of the cage for us so we could have a look, it was really cute but it was spikey so he had to use a glove. They were selling lots of jewellery, carpets, food, swords, spices and perfumes. The Souq is really big and very busy with lots of people. Hannah
